Public commentator, Germaine Barrett, says the appearance of Vybz Kartel at the People’s National Party’s 86th annual conference on Sunday was a poor decision by a party seeking to lead Jamaica.

Kartel was recently freed, after spending 13 years in prison for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. His conviction was overturned by the UK-based Privy Council on the basis of jury tampering.

Mr. Barrett says it was inappropriate for a political party to appear to be endorsing Kartel.
