Argentine football wizard Lionel Messi will fly into Kingston tonight with the rest of his Inter-Miami team for the crucial Concacaf Champions Cup clash with Cavalier at the National Stadium on Thursday.
Inter-Miami coach Javier Mascherano told a Press Conference in Florida on Wednesday ahead of the team’s departure, that Messi will travel with the team.
There’d been speculation over whether the eight-time Ballon d’OR winner would make it given that he has not played for the club in its last three games including the 2-0 win over Cavalier in the first leg.
Inter-Miami are due in the island on Wednesday evening at 6 and will not stage a training session before the game.
They need only a draw to make it to the quarter-finals and can even afford a 1-0 defeat.
Meanwhile, technical director of Cavalier, Rudolph Speid, says going up against some of the world’s best players will put Jamaica and Caribbean football on show.
