Campion College will host Kingston College (KC) in a top-of-the-table clash in Zone C action of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Manning Cup at the Campion College school grounds today.

Campion and KC are both on seven points after three games, but KC are on top as they have a better goal difference.

KC, based on recent form and history against their opponents, will enter the fixture as the favourites. The North Street-based school has scored 22 goals so far this season, compared to Campion’s 10, with both teams sharing a similar defensive record, only conceding twice each.

The teams also met last season and KC came out winners in a close 3-2 contest.

KC head coach Vassell Reynolds said his team is still experimenting with their game as they continue to get the results needed to advance to the next round.

“If you’re going to try, let’s try now. If you’re going to experiment, let’s experiment now,” he said. “We have a couple of things that we’re working on and it includes all 30 players. We’re taking these games seriously but we’re doing what we have to do in terms of patching here and there,” Reynolds said.

Also in Zone C action, Penwood High welcome José Martí Technical High at Maverley Hughenden Football Club.

Penwood are looking to keep their second-round ambitions alive as they also sit level with KC and Campion College on seven points atop the group.

José Martí, on the other hand, are looking for their second win of the season and will be hoping they can rain on Penwood’s parade.

Defending Manning Cup champions Mona High will also take to the field today when they travel to Charlie Smith High in another top-of-the-table clash.

The two teams will be putting their perfect record on the line as both teams are yet to drop points this season.

It is the same situation in Zone G as well. The unbeaten St George’s College and St Catherine High will also go head-to-head in a top-of-the-table clash at St Catherine High’s school grounds.

All games are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
