The Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, Matthew Samuda, is expected to be nominated on Wednesday afternoon.
Samuda was expected to have a clear run to parliament, after the People’s National Party announced it would not field a candidate in the September 30 by-election.
But he will face at least one challenger, following the nomination of David Fritz Anderson as an independent candidate.
But Samuda is still the overwhelming favourite, in a seat the JLP has held since 2001.
