Mayor of Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation, Andrew Swaby, says the municipality has made a commitment to fight corruption within the KSAMC.

He says within his first 100 days in office, one of his first step taken towards mitigating any corrupt activities is the implementation of the public signing of contracts by its members.

This he says is an effort to improve staff morale.

Mayor Swaby noted that this initiative will demonstrate the corporation’s unwavering commitment to uphold integrity and accountability, while demonstrating their dedication to providing the highest standard of governance to the community.

Speaking at the quarterly media briefing on Thursday, Mayor Swaby says they have also committed to promote a cleaner city with the launch of the Cleaner Kingston Initiative.
