MSME Leader Wanted More From Budget to Stimulate Growth

President of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, MSME Alliance, Antoinette Hamilton, says there was not enough in the government’s latest budget to stimulate the environment for members of the business community.

Minister Williams announced a $2 billion facility for the Development Bank of Jamaica to lend to MSMEs. The minister also announced an increase in the general consumption tax threshold for MSMEs from $10 million to $15 million.

But Hamilton says the business community was expecting more.
