Reigning World Championship double sprint champion, Noah Lyles, is set to headline the sixth staging of the Racer Grand Prix Track and Field meet at the National Stadium, on June 1.

Lyles, who’s arguably the biggest name in the sport, will run in the men’s 100 metres against the man he relegated to bronze at last year’s World Championships, Zharnel Hughes and Oblique Seville, who was fourth.

Both Seville and Hughes are looking forward to the rematch.

Seville says he’s happy to get an early look at two of the top sprinters in the world ahead of the Olympics.

Hughes says it’s good for the sport that some of the top sprinters can race against each other this early in the season.

The men’s 100-metres is among 13 events on the programme. The women’s equivalent will feature newly minted world indoor champion Julien Alfred, Alana Reid and Ashanti Moore.

Reigning Olympic bronze medallist, Megan Tapper and Ackera Nugent will be in the women’s sprint hurdles. The men’s sprint hurdles will have Olympic champion Hansle Parchment.

Other events on the card are the 400 metres, 400 metres hurdles, long and triple jumps men and discus men.

National triple jump champion, Jaydon Hibbert, will clash with American Will Claye in the men’s triple jump. Claye is the third longest triple jumper in history.

The Sports Development Foundation through the Ministry of Sports will donate $10 million to the staging of the meet.

Finish line tickets will go on sale on May 1 for $5,000, regular grand stand $3,000 and bleachers admission is $500.
