Over $4B Generated From Carnival 2024 – Bartlett

Jamaica Carnival 2024 generated over four billion dollars in direct economic impact.

Those are the findings of a study commissioned by the Tourism Enhancement Fund.

Tourism Minister, Ed Bartlett, presented the findings during a press conference on Tuesday at the office of the Tourism Product Development Company in New Kingston.

The study, conducted by Dr. Michael Marshall, Research Fellow at the Centre for Leadership and Governance at the University of the West Indies, Mona, revealed that Jamaica’s 2024 staging of Carnival benefitted the country in more ways than one.

Edmund Bartlett revealed that Jamaica Carnival 2024 generated over 95 billion dollars in direct and indirect impact.

The Tourism Minister also noted that Jamaica Carnival 2024 supported well over one hundred thousand jobs.

Minister Bartlett added that over 5,000 carnival enthusiasts arrived in Jamaica for the event last year, spending more than 12 million dollars in the country.
