President of the Press Association Jamaica, Dashan Hendricks, says he is baffled at opposition leader, Mark Golding’s, claim that the media in Jamaica has been bought out by the governing Jamaica Labour Party, JLP.
At a recent meeting with party supporters in Hartford, Connecticut, Golding lamented that the People’s National Party’s, PNP, message is not being boosted by the media.
The PNP president says his party will have a very tough time dislodging the JLP from government.
Speaking on Nationwide at Five on Monday, Mr. Hendricks says there’s no evidence to support the opposition leader’s claim.

And political commentator, Dr. Nadeen Spence, says Mr. Golding’s statement betrays a defeated mindset. She says his comments were also blatantly untrue.

Meanwhile, political commentator and editor-in-chief of the Western Mirror, Lloyd B. Smith, says the opposition leader should apologise for the comment.
Smith, who is also a former PNP MP, says Mark Golding sounds as if he’s in a state of desperation.
