A member of the JLP’s Communication Task Force, Marlon Morgan, is accusing the PNP of blatant hypocrisy in its criticism of his party’s decision to call a by-election for North East St. Ann.
Mr. Morgan contends that the PNP is engaging in the very same political manoeuvring it condemns, by opting not to contest the by-election despite their professed commitment to principles.
Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, has denounced the by-election, scheduled less than 24 hours after Marsha Smith’s resignation as Member of Parliament, as both shocking and unprecedented.
Golding says the PNP will abstain from participating in what he deems an undemocratic political ploy.
However, speaking on Cliff Hughes Online, Morgan charged that the PNP, now bereft of innovative ideas and a compelling campaign platform, is capitalizing on the short memories and ignorance of many Jamaicans.
