Opposition Spokesperson for Information and Public Communication, Nekeisha Burchell, is criticising Minister Dana Morris Dixon, over her response to what the PNP says is a breach of the opposition leader’s data privacy.

On Wednesday, Senator Morris Dixon, in her new capacity as information minister, rejected a claim from the PNP, that Western Portland Member of Parliament, the Jamaica Labour Party’s Daryl Vaz had breached the privacy of opposition leader, Mark Golding.

Mr. Vaz revealed in an interview on Cliff Hughes Online that Mr. Golding chose to obtain a Jamaican passport in 2011. Golding was 46-years-old at the time.

When pressed on the matter at Wednesday’s post-Cabinet media briefing, Minister Morris Dixon noted that Mr. Vaz would not be inclined to breach an individual’s privacy.

However, Miss Burchell says an investigation is needed into how Minister Vaz accessed sensitive information about the PNP president.

She also questioned Dr. Morris Dixon’s defence of Mr. Vaz.
