Former People’s National Party, PNP, caretaker for East Portland, Colin Bell, says he walked away from the position due to a lack of support.
Bell’s sudden decision to quit last Saturday has reportedly caused a rift among comrades in the constituency.
Some are reportedly unhappy with soundings from the party that his replacement may be recruited from outside the parish.
Bell says he’s still a fan of PNP president, Mark Golding.
Meanwhile Bell is refusing to be drawn on whether his replacement can conquer the Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, Ann Marie Vaz at the next general election.
