The President of the youth arm of the People’s National Party, The Patriots, Christopher Henry, says a public sex offender registry can help regulate ride-sharing companies in Jamaica.
In a video posted to social media on Thursday, Mr. Henry, who also serves as the Caretaker for St. Andrew North Central, says the ban imposed by Transport Minister Daryl Vaz is not the solution.
Henry’s comments follow a similar call by party chairman and MP for St. Andrew South Western, Dr Angela Brown Burke.
Henry says companies such as Uber have frameworks in place to identify suitable drivers for its services.
