Opposition Leader Mark Golding and Julian Robinson outside the British Parliament.
PNP President and Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, on Sunday signalled his intention to renounce his UK citizenship.
Speaking to comrades at the PNP’s National Executive Committee meeting in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Golding said he has listened to the views from within and outside the party on the subject.
His decision follows long public discourse over whether an aspiring Prime Minister of Jamaica should hold dual citizenship.
And Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Julian Robinson has indicated that he, too, will renounce his UK citizenship.
In announcing his decision, Robinson said the current national debate around dual citizenship is a potential distraction and diversion from what he says are very real issues affecting the Jamaican people.
