The Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, is advising the public of traffic changes for nomination day activities for the by-election in North East St Ann on Wednesday, September 11.
The changes will take effect between 8 am and 4 pm.
The areas that will be impacted include Park Avenue, Main Street, Bravo Street, Royes Street, Marcus Garvey Way, King Street, Church Street in the vicinity of the Anglican Church, Church Crescent in the vicinity of Rubis gas station and Harbour Street.
The JCF is reminding citizens that no meetings, motorcades or marches will be permitted within 24 hours before the opening of polling stations.
They say possession of weapons and any activity influencing voters within 100 metres of the polling station is prohibited.
On election day, the JCF says establishments licensed to sell alcoholic beverages such as bars, nightclubs and liquor stores should be closed one hour before polling stations are opened and remain closed six hours after polling stations are closed.
