Samuda to be Returned to Cabinet if Successful in NESA By-Election – PM

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Matthew Samuda will be re-appointed as minister with responsibility for water, if he is elected member of parliament in the September 30 by-election in North East St. Ann.

The prime minister made the comment while speaking to JLP supporters in the constituency on Wednesday, Nomination Day.

The prime minister’s comment comes amid continued speculation about the identity of the person who’ll replace Dr. Nigel Clarke as finance minister.

Samuda resigned as minister and government senator to clear the way for his bid to win a seat in the House of Representatives. He’s one of three candidates nominated to contest the by-election.
