The Jamaica Stock Exchange, JSE, has suspended the trading of shares in two companies for not filing their Audited Financial Statements for 2023.
The two companies are Equityline Mortgage Investments Corporation Limited and EduFocal Limited.
The JSE says effective at the end of trading on Tuesday, June 4, trading in the shares of both companies was suspended by the Exchange.
The JSE says the suspension of Equityline Mortgage Investments Corporation’s shares is in keeping with its Main Market Rule 408.
That rule says all Annual Financial Statements shall have been approved by the company’s Board of Directors and signed by two or more directors of the company.
It says companies with audited annual financial statements which are 90 days overdue, shall have trading in their shares suspended until the reports are submitted to the Exchange.
And it says the suspension of EduFocal Limited’s shares is in keeping with JSE Junior Market Rule Appendix 2, part 4 section 2.
That rule says Junior Market Companies that do not submit the audited financial statements within 90 days of the date on which they are due for submission to the JSE may be suspended until such time as they are able to submit.
