The queen of the 400-metres hurdles, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will close her season in unusual style on Friday and Saturday.
The American, who lowered her world record to 50.37 seconds at the recent Paris Olympics, is set to compete in a flat double at the season-ending Diamond League Final, the Memorial Van Damme in Brussels.
Despite not having run in a Diamond League meet this year, organisers have extended wildcard invitations to her to compete in Brussels, where she will compete in the 400 metres on Friday, before taking part in the 200 metres race on Saturday.
It will be just the 25-year-old’s second 400 metres flat and third 200 metres race of the year.
McLaughlin-Levrone helped Team USA win gold in the mile relay in Paris.
Meeting director, Kim Gevaert, is enthusiastic at the prospect of seeing the outstanding American run in two competitive flat events.
