Immaculate Conception and Clan Carthy were the winners in Thursday’s round of matches in the ISSA/JHF Under 19 High School Hockey League at the Mona field.
As soon as the whistle blew, Immaculate Conception took control of the game against Wolmer’s girls.
In the seventh minute, Immaculate Conception scored the first goal of the game, with Zoe-Amoi Dowdie setting up a brilliant play that led to Zahrah Green’s powerful shot finding the back of the net.
As the game progressed, Immaculate Conception’s offensive dominance continued.
In the 23rd minute, Tamah Davis scored her first goal of the match by seizing a rebound and capitalising on the opportunity.
In the 27th minute, captain Zhuri Burchenson converted a well-executed pass into a brilliant goal, further solidifying her team’s lead.
In the end, Immaculate Conception emerged victorious with a final score of 4-0.
Meanwhile, As the umpire blew the whistle, Clan Carthy High took control of the ball with an aggressive offensive strategy against Wolmer’s Boys.
Clan Carthy continued to press forward and in the eighth minute, Jaheed Small set up Garfield Steele, who scored. Clan Carthy’s relentless determination proved to be too much for Wolmer’s to handle.
In the dying moments of the first half, Jaheed Small orchestrated a brilliant play, setting up Garfield Steele for his second goal in the 39
minutes.
With the final score reading 2-0 in favour of Clan Carthy High, jubilant cheers erupted from their supporters.
It was their first win of the season and propelled them up to fourth place with six points.
