Social and political commentator, Dr. Karren Dunkley, says despite Joe Biden’s exit from the US presidential election campaign, it’s still anybody’s race leading up to the November polls.
Dr. Dunkley also represents the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council representative in north-east US.
Dr. Dunkley says the decision by President Biden to stand down is not only stunning but an incredible act of patriotism. Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic party’s new nominee.
Harris, whose father is Jamaican, could become the first Black woman and first Asian American to lead the ticket of a major political party.
However, Dr. Dunkley says while the diaspora supports the nomination of Harris, more work is needed to convince the voting population in the US.
