Captain Hayley Matthews scored a century to guide the West Indies women to a 113-runs win over Pakistan in the first of three One Day Internationals at the National Stadium in Karachi, today.
Batting first, Matthews made 140 which included 15-fours and a six in the Windies 269 for 8 off their 50 overs.
She got support from Shemaine Campbelle, 45, and Chinelle Henry, 23. Sadia Iqbal and Tuba Hassan picked up two wickets each for the hosts.
In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 156 inside 37 overs. Hassan top scored with 25 and Muneeba Ali made 22.
Matthews finished with figures of 3 for 17, while Afy Fletcher and Zaida James bagged two wickets each for the Caribbean side.
The second match is set for the same venue on Sunday.
