WHEN ST Jago travel to Edith Dalton James today for their ISSA Manning Cup Zone E game, the objective will be to turn around their poor start to the season.
The Spanish Town-based school lost their opening two games of the competition, defeated 3-1 by Wolmer’s Boys’ School in their first match before falling to a close 1-0 defeat to Tivoli Gardens High School in their second.
The results mean they sit at the bottom of Zone E as the only team yet to put a point on the board, trailing far behind group leaders Wolmer’s and Tivoli, who are level on nine points each.
However, St Jago will be confident they can turn their fortunes around against their less-fancied opponents Edith Dalton James.
Edith Dalton James are also without a win this season but have registered a single point following their 1-1 draw with St Mary’s College.
They will be hoping to avoid a loss at home which could see them sinking to the foot of the table.
Also in Zone E will be a top-of-the-table clash between Wolmer’s Boys and Tivoli at the Mico University College field.
Both teams have been perfect. However, the Wolmerians hold the advantage with a superior goal difference.
Wolmer’s will be hoping to continue from their 8-0 demolition of St Mary’s College last time out when they face the school from west Kingston.
On the other hand, Tivoli are fresh off a close 1-0 victory over St Jago and will look to add Wolmer’s to their growing list of victories in the zone.
All games are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
