Reggae crooner Singer J has officially launched his Rub-A-Dub Tuesday weekly series in Kingston Jamaica. The series will start officially on Tuesday March 28 in collaboration with Dub School at Dub Wise Cafe at 82 Lady Musgrave Road.

The series, which highlights the Dub style of Reggae music originally created in the 1960’s, seeks to promote the songs and artistes who ruled that era and genre, giving them an additional outlet for their powerful material.

Singer J sees the need for more events that feature these acts as he himself is a big fan of this sub-genre. He was also inspired by other promoters including Sound Wave studio and Oniel Famous from Music Town who are also sailing the Rub-A-Dub banner high with their own events.

Rub-A-Dub Music is a big deal for Jamaica but there aren’t a lot of spaces where you can go and enjoy the good roots vibe. I wanted to give people an additional safe space to enjoy the selectors and artistes who keeps the roots vibe alive,” Singer J explained

Singer J will be organizing the series through his SOL Records label on a weekly basis, admission is free and every week selectors and artistes will touch the stage. Featured acts may include; Little John, Triston Palmer, Peter Metro, Josey Whales, Admiral Tibbet, Nitty Kutchie and others.

Singer J will also be launching the tribute album for his Uncle Bob Andy in a few weeks, and should be releasing his Gospel album later this year.
