An anti-crime operation conducted in the Scarborough Police Station District on Tuesday resulted in the discovery and seizure of 104 cannabis plants and the arrest of a female suspect, police said in a media release.
The intelligence-driven operation, which took place between 10:35 am and 1pm, was led by W/ASP (Ag) Williams, Inspector Bacchus, and W/Ag Sgt Gordon-Harris, under the supervision of W/Cpl Alfred.
Officers from the Tobago Divisional Task Force (TDTF) North were supported by Sgt Hernandez and officers from the Moriah Police Station, along with Cpl Guy and officers of the TDTF West.
Police discovered the cannabis plants being cultivated in the Scarborough area.
A 40-year-old unemployed woman from Sergeant Cain, Scarborough, was taken into custody in connection with the illegal activity.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), investigations are ongoing and charges are expected to be laid under the Dangerous Drugs Act.
