Thirteen Jamaicans are in action on today’s opening day of the first ever staging of Grand Slam Track at the National Stadium.
Stacey-Ann Williams and Nickesha Pryce will face reigning Olympic champion Gabby Thomas of the USA and 2019 World Champion Dina Asher Smith in the women’s 200m, the first event on the programme at 5.42PM.
Deandrae Watkins and Zandrion Barnes are in the men’s 400m at 5.54 while Assinie Wilson, Malik James King and Roshawn Clarke line-up in the men’s 400m hurdles at 6.34 with the reigning world champion Alison Do Santos of Brazil.
The women’s 400m hurdles go off at 6.46 with Jamaicans Shian Salmon, Rushell Clayton and Andrenette Knight going up against the brilliant Sydney McLaughlin Levrone and Dalilah Mouhammed.
Natoya Goule will go in the women’s 800m against world champion Mary Moraa at 6.21
The final event on the opening day the men’s 100m goes off at 7.21 with Ackeem Blake, Oblique Seville battling former world champion Fred Kerley, Zharnel Hughes and Kenny Bednarek.
