Eight men and five women will battle for the National Sportsman and Sportswomen of the year award at a ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, on January 17, 2025.
Among the nominees are 6-podium finishers from the Paris Olympics – 5-male and a female.
All the nominees on the men’s side competes in track and field which include, Akeem Blake, Rasheed Broadbell, Rajindra Campbell, Rusheen McDonald, Carey McLeod, Wayne Pinnock, Roje Stona, and Kishane Thompson.
On the women’s side the nominees are cyclist Lori Sharpe, and a quartet of track and field athletes Rushell Clayton, Ackera Nugent, Nikisha Pryce, and Shanicka Ricketts.
Chairman of the selection committee, Mike Fennell, says the six podium finishers in Paris was amazing.
Fennell says he looking forward to the awards next year.
