The revenue measures outlined in the 2024-25 budget have now been codified under the Income Tax Amendment Act.

Finance minister, Fayval Williams, says the amendment further solidifies Jamaica’s fiscal and economic stability.

She was speaking at Wednesday’s post-cabinet media briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Minister Williams says the legislative milestone formalises the income tax threshold exemption increased to 1-point-7 Million dollars.

It also increased the pensioner tax exemption from 80-thousand annually to 2-hundred and 50-thousand per annum.

Minister Williams reminded journalists that the Holness Administration has not introduced any new taxes since 2016.
