2025 Women’s Premier League Kicks Off on March 1

The 2025 Jamaica Women’s Premier League, JWPL, is set to kick off on March 1 with 11 teams from across the island competing for the title.

The league was was officially launched on Wednesday, marking a new era for women’s football in the country.

Under a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, between the Professional Women’s Football Jamaica Limited PWFJL, and the Jamaica Football Federation, PWFJL has been entrusted with the marketing, commercialization and development of the league.

Chairman of PWFJL, Christina Hudson, says they have a clear vision to elevate women’s football to a fully professional standard.

Hudson says the various stakeholder has a major role to play in the success of the league.

She says the support from corporate Jamaica has so far been instrumental in ensuring that this year’s competition begins at a high level, providing teams with critical resources to aid their development and participation.
