21-year-old charged with murder and attempted murder after fatal Belize City shooting

A 21-year-old Belize District resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Belize City earlier this week.  Police say Luewin Link of Lords Bank Village, Belize District, has been formally charged for the murder of Clinton Delton Pow, whose killing occurred yesterday.  According to investigators, the charges were filed after Corporal Francisco Montejo swore an Information and Complaint before the court earlier today, resulting in a Warrant in the First Instance being issued for Link’s arrest.  Police subsequently detained and charged the 21-year-old not only with murder, but also with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm in relation to injuries sustained by Kiandra Pow during the same incident.  Authorities report that following his arrest, Link was cautioned and informed of the charges. He chose to remain silent and requested to make a phone call to his father, which officers allowed.  The charges stem from a shooting incident that left Clinton Delton Pow dead and another individual injured. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack remain ongoing.  Link is expected to be arraigned in court, where the charges will be formally read before a magistrate.//////
