Police said the operations involved specialised units and focused on high-priority offenders, criminal activity hotspots and major roadways.

It added that the police continued their focused efforts to ensure public safety and security through sustained operations across all divisions.

The Southern Division recorded the highest level of operational activity.

The Inter-Agency Task Force also played a significant role, contributing to the seizure of both the rifle and the pistol.

“These efforts are part of the police service’s ongoing commitment to proactive policing, targeting illegal firearms, traffic violations and repeat offenders,” the statement said.

The results were described as a reflection of the police’s continued resolve to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of all people.
