3 Sunshine Girls to Feature in Australian Suncorp Netball League

Three Jamaicans will be involved in Sunday’s final of the 2025 Australian Suncorp Netball League at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

The West Coast Fever with Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard, Shanice Beckford and Kadian Dehaney beat the New South Wales Swifts 77-45 to book a spot in the final. 

It’s been a record breaking season for the Fever who became the first team in the league’s history to win 13 games in a row.

Former Sunshine Girls assistant coach, Winston Nevers, believes this latest achievement speaks to the high talent level the country has in the sport. 

Nevers says having the country’s star players excelling in the biggest and best league in the world, will serve to motivate the next generation of Jamaican players.

The West Coast Fever awaits the winner of the clash between New South Wales Swifts and the Melbourne Vixens.
