37-year-old Santa Cruz man killed near home

A technician employed with Servus Limited was killed on Sunday afternoon as he stood on the road near his home.

Keil Johnson, 37, of Gasparillo Road, Upper Santa Cruz – was shot multiple times around 4 pm on February 9.

Reports indicate Johnson was standing at the corner of Lasageese Road and El Penco Street, Gasparillo Road, Upper Santa Cruz – when an unknown car drove up and stopped as the occupants opened fire on him.

As the car sped off, Johnson’s relatives who live a short distance away, rushed out to find him lying on the road, bleeding from several gunshot wounds.

A close male relative rushed the conscious man to the Eric Williams Medical Science’s Complex, Mt Hope – where he was treated but succumbed to his injuries around 4:31 pm.

Approximately ten 9 mm spent shell casings were recovered at the scene.
