The Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, has seized 459 illegal firearms since the start of the year.
Prime Minister and Jamaica Labour Party leader Dr. Andrew Holness made the announcement at a constituency conference in South Central St Catherine on Sunday.
In late May, the JCF made one of the largest single seizures of gun and ammunition in the country’s history. The lawmen seized 233 firearms, along with over 50,000 rounds of ammunition.
Dr. Holness is urging criminals to surrender their illegal firearms and pursue meaningful, lawful employment.
