The 129th Penn Relays continue on Friday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia with action getting underway at 8 am Jamaica time.
It’s shaping up to be another big day for Jamaican High Schools, as seven will go in the Championship of Americas 4-by-100 relay finals in the afternoon.
Calabar High will take the fastest time into the final after winning their heat in 40.24 seconds on Thursday.
Defending champions Excelsior along with Kingston College, Edwin Allen, Steths and William Knibb are also in the final.
Three Jamaican Schools will be in the 4-by-800 final as defending champions Jamaica College failed to make it to the top 12.
Edwin Allen along with Kingston College and Calabar will carry Jamaican hopes.
Defending champions Kingston College are also into the 4-by-400 final along with four other Jamaican schools.
Calabar is be the fastest of the Jamaican schools going in after clocking 3-minutes-11-point 58 seconds in their heat.
The other Jamaican schools in this afternoon’s final are Excelsior, Jamaica College and Steths.
Meanwhile Despiro Wray of Kingston College , St. Elizabeth Tech’s Rikoy Hunter and Jamaica College’s Michael-Andre Edwards won the high school boys individual field events titles on the opening day.
The girls will make their entry into the relays on Friday in Championship of Americas qualifying events.
