58-year-old laborer charged with sexual crimes against minor

Authorities have formally arrested and charged a 58-year-old laborer following a disturbing report involving a 15-year-old girl.  The investigation began after a 33-year-old woman accompanied her teenage daughter to a local police station to report a series of incidents. According to the minor’s statement, an adult male engaged in sexual intercourse with her on two separate occasions during the month of June 2025.  At the time the official report was filed, medical examinations confirmed that the 15-year-old victim is 24 weeks pregnant.  Following the investigation, police apprehended the suspect on February 25. The 58-year-old Belizean national now faces two counts of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse and two counts of child prostitution.  The names of the accused and the victim are being withheld to protect the identity of the minor and the integrity of the ongoing legal proceedings.  The suspect is expected to appear in court shortly to face these allegations. Local social services are reportedly involved to provide support for the minor during her pregnancy and the ensuing trial.
