60-Page Booklet Still Not Enough to Fit JLP’s Achievements – Johnson Smith

Foreign Affairs Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith says the JLP’s achievements since taking office in 2016 are too many to fit in the 60-page booklet.

Minister Johnson-Smith was speaking on Nationwide this Morning earlier on Wednesday.

Mahiri Stewart reports.

The document features a list of 250-plus achievements organised under various sectors and industries.

They include national security, agriculture; roads, water and housing; the economy; health; education and youth; and tourism.

The introduction says, “This booklet is not about what we hope to do. It highlights some of the projects we have already delivered… These are not promises. They are not plans. They are real results.”

The party says the government has done more than enough to campaign on its record over the last nine years in charge of the country’s affairs.

Minister Johnson-Smith says the booklet’s focus on major highlights was strategic.

She said the meaning behind the ‘Choose Jamaica’ campaign slogan represents a commitment to putting the needs of the Jamaican people first.

Minister Johnson Smith says the document is a means of communicating with a broader cross section of people.

The document is set to be the central point of discussion at a media conference called by the JLP for 2pm on Wednesday afternoon at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.
