75 Belizean Scholarship Recipients Head to Taiwan for University Studies

Seventy-five Belizean students have begun a new chapter in their education, heading to Taiwan to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies.  The students left Belize in three groups with departures between August 22 and August 24.  Of the 75 scholarship recipients, 35 received the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship, while 40 received scholarships through the Taiwan ICDF programme. The students will pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD studies, and will pursue opportunities in various fields that can help build their professional skills and knowledge. Prior to the departures, the recipients gathered on August 14 for an orientation session and alumni gathering where they received guidance from national leaders, Taiwan officials and Belizeans who previously studied in Taiwan. The Taiwan ICDF scholarship programme itself has been providing higher education opportunities through partner universities in Taiwan since 1998.
