Jamaica will go into Saturday’s crucial men’s 4x100m at the London Diamond League at the Olympic Stadium in the British capital without one of their big three sprinters.

Ackeem Blake who finished third at the National Championship is out after feeling some discomfort.

This opens the way for Kadrian Goldson to take his spot on the team.

Goldson, who was in Italy for relay practice with the rest of the team, has already flown to England along with Oblique Seville.

Rohan Watson and Kishane Thompson, the other members of the team, are also due in England from their base in Italy.

Blake was also scheduled to run in the men’s 100m.

Jamaica is chasing the qualifying standard for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo Japan this September.

Jamaica is currently the 18th ranked team in the world by time and must run faster than the 37.87 seconds of the Netherlands who are in 15th or the 38.20 seconds by 16th place Nigeria.

Two Saturdays agao a team of Adrian Kerr, Goldson, Adrian Kerr, Bouwahgie Nkrumie, and Odain Mcpherson failed to achieve the time after winning the event at the Barbados Grand Prix in 38.46 seconds.

Should the team fail to get the time, they will have another opportunity at the Nacac Senior Championship in the Bahamas August 15-17.
