National champion and outdoor record holder Ackera Nugent ran the fastest women’s indoor 60m hurdles time of the year at the Lievin World Athletics Tour Gold meeting in France today.
Nugent won in 7.75 seconds beating the previous world lead of 7.76 done by Olympic champion Masai Russell at the Millrose Games in New York Last week.
Another Jamaican Crystal Morrison clocked 8.16 seconds for sixth in her heat and didn’t make the final.
Meanwhile National champion and Olympic Bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell was third in the men’s Shot Put with a throw of 21.34m, he finished behind winner Leonardo Fabbri of Italy 21.95m
The meet was highlighted by a stunning world record in the Men’s Indoor Mile.
Norway’s Jacob Ingebrigsten blew away the field to win in 3:45.14 seconds, beating the record of 3:46.63 seconds set by Yared Nuguse at the Millrose Games last week.
