President of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees, CANOC, Keith Joseph, says over the past several months, World Boxing has appeared focused on becoming the new international federation for the sport of boxing.

Joseph says they are seeking membership to justify it becoming acceptable to the IOC.

This in an effort to benefit from IOC recognition and have rights to administering the sport at LA2028.

He believes Caribbean countries have essentially been very quiet in the face of the international actions impacting boxing around the world.

Joseph says Caribbean boxing associations appear to have adopted a stance that the current dispute is beyond their involvement and are waiting on the outcome.

He says now more than ever before, Caribbean boxing federations need to communicate with each other and arrive at a consensus regarding their input in decisions regarding the future of their sport.

Joseph says Caricom to has a role to play.
