Police in Corozal have charged one adult and two minors following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition earlier this week.  Reports indicate that Brandon Sanker and two teenage minors were detained just after midnight on Monday morning during a police operation in the Corozal District. Authorities say the trio was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm along with ammunition.  All three have since been formally charged in connection with the discovery.  ASP Stacy Smith confirmed the timing of the arrest and the details of the operation.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Corozal Police have formally arrested and jointly charged 20-year-old Brandon Sanker and two male minors aged 16 and 17 respectively of Corozal Town for the offense of kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license. These charges are as a consequence of police’s execution of an operation on Narcy Street at around 12:15 a.m. on Monday, 6 April. The three male persons were intercepted during the course of this operation and in their midst was a 9mm Pistol BGR9 Elite containing 17 live rounds of 9mm ammunition.”
