Afghanistan Mauls Uganda by 128 Runs in Opening T20 WC Game

Afghanistan made an impressive start to their campaign at the ICC T20 World Cup, they beat Uganda by 128 runs in a group D encounter at Providence in Guyana on Monday.

Ramanula Gurbaz 76 and Ibrahim Zadran 70, put on 154, the second highest opening stand in T20 World Cup history as the Afghans posted 183 for 5 in their 20 overs.

In reply the debutantes Uganda, was blown away for 58 in 16 overs thanks to Fazalhaq Farooqi 5-for-9.

The World Cup continues today with defending champions England facing Scotland at Kensington Oval in Barbados at 9:30 am and the Netherlands against Nepal in Dallas at 10:30 am.
