Dancehall stars Aidonia and Vanessa Bling have spoken out following a turbulent staging of Sandz in London, UK, where both artistes faced performance challenges that left fans frustrated and the event marred by disruptions.
The highly anticipated show drew a massive crowd of Caribbean music lovers over the weekend. Vanessa Bling, known for her catalogue of hits, was one of Sunday night’s featured performers and delivered several fan favourites that had the audience singing along.
However, her set was not without hiccups. At one point, her microphone appeared to shut off, forcing her to drop it. Boos erupted from parts of the crowd, and she was quickly escorted off-stage by security. The incident created a tense atmosphere, though many fans continued to cheer her on.
Shortly after, Aidonia was scheduled to perform. The ‘Banga‘ deejay made his way through the dense crowd to the front of the stage, but tensions escalated during his entrance, with scuffles breaking out behind him as he made his way to the front of the stage.
While performing his popular track Yeah Yeah, scuffles continued behind him, escalating into what appeared to be a brawl. The situation worsened when bottles were thrown onto the stage, forcing Aidonia to abruptly end his performance and walk off.
Video footage circulating online also shows people jumping fences in an attempt to enter the event, further highlighting the chaotic environment.
A fan who attended, reported that Aidonia initially had difficulty accessing the venue due to heavy congestion at the backstage entrance. Technical issues during Vanessa Bling’s performance, combined with her delayed start, resulted in the show running late, adding to the crowd’s agitation.
In response to the incident, Aidonia took to Instagram just hours after leaving the stage. Posting to his story, he wrote: “SORRY TO ALL MY FANS IN THE UK. GOTTA MAKE THIS UP, YOU KNOW I GOTTA MAKE IT RIGHT!!!!! NUFF LOVE ❤️.”

Vanessa Bling also addressed the situation, choosing to focus on gratitude for her supporters despite the setbacks. In her Instagram story, she shared: “TO MY FANS, I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH…. We in this together forever.”
