Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander says that “an arrest is imminent”, as investigations continue into several bomb threats across Trinidad earlier this week.
Speaking with Guardian Media during a road exercise this morning, Alexander confirmed that police were closing in on the suspect.
“An arrest is imminent. That’s for sure,” the minister asserted.
However, he declined to give further details.
“When you’re doing investigations, you can’t tell everybody anything. When i tell you what we have, you’re going to tell members of the public,” he observed, pointing out that the suspect would be warned as a result and be able to elude capture.
“We have to be careful what we say to people now, you know,” he said, “at least on my watch.”
The bomb threats resulted in the evacuation of several government buildings and a commercial shopping plaza earlier this week.
Officers of the TTPS’ Special Branch are continuing enquiries into the matter.
