East Portland Member of Parliament, MP, Ann-Marie Vaz is moving to rubbish criticisms levied by the opposition People’s National Party, PNP, about the government’s new rural school bus system.
The first phase of the programme, which will be rolled out in September, is expected to benefit over 300,000 students of 258 schools.
However, the PNP has proposed an alternative plan where it would give 20,000 rural students $2,500 weekly to cover transportation costs.
Speaking at the Jamaica Labour Party Area Council One Conference on Sunday, Mrs. Vaz says the opposition is ‘badmind’.
She says PNP leader, Mark Golding, will never be prime minister.
