Anthony Myers Remanded for Allegedly Threatening A Woman

A Belize City man was placed on remand during his arraignment yesterday in the magistrates’ court.  28-year-old, Anthony Myers, was charged for assault with a deadly weapon and a threat of death against a woman.  Magistrate Ludlow Black conducted the arraignment in which Myers pleaded not guilty to both charges.  The Unity Street resident is being accused of threatening one Nessia Casimiro with a firearm and threatening to end her life.  In the courtroom, he did attempt to give his side of the situation but was told that with a plea already entered he would not be allowed to do so.  The incident reportedly happened on Thursday, July 3.  Myers is slated to return to court on September 15.
