Arima man killed after being called out of his house

An Arima man was killed on Monday night after he was called out of his house and shot multiple times.

Police said Mikhail Campbell, 23, later succumbed to his injuries as he arrived at the hospital.

Investigators said Campbell was with friends and relatives at his home at Maturita Extension, By-Pass Road, Arima, when around 11.40 pm an unidentified man walked towards the house and called out his name.

As Campbell came out of the house and started to walk to see who it was, several loud explosions were heard. He collapsed on the ground as the gunman ran off.

Campbell’s family rushed him to the Arima General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. —ANNA-LISA PAUL
