West Indies batsman Alick Athanaze fell two runs short of a century on day-one of their three-day practice match against the Shaheens XI at the the Islamabad Club.
Batting first the Windies reached 273 for 7 at sumps. Amir Jangoo, 29, and Joshua Da Silva, 11, are the not out batsmen.
Athanaze’s 98 came off 148-balls and included 15-fours and a six, while Kraigg Brathwaite made 34, Mikyle Louis, 34, and Keacy Carty, 22.
Athanaze says it was a spin friendly pitch.
He says it was good to see other batters getting starts.
