President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, JOA, Christopher Samuda, says the attempted assassination of Prime Minister of Slovak Robert Fico has serve to further raise security alerts for the government of France and the organisers of the Paris Olympics.
Prime Minister Fico is in a serious but stable condition after being shot several times in what colleagues described as a politically motivated attack.
Government officials told a news conference that the suspect had acted alone and that he had previously taken part in anti-government protests.
Samuda says the government of France is more than able to make the Paris Games safe.
The JOA boss they they’ll but in special plans to ensure the safety of Jamaica’s delegation to the Games.
