Aussies Fight Back After Chaotic First Day of Barbados Test

Fourteen wickets fell for 237 runs on Wednesday’s opening day of the first cricket test between West Indies and Australia at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown Barbados.

Jaydon Seales and Shamar Joseph together claimed nine of those wickets as Australia choosing to bat were dismissed for 180.

Usman Khawaja 47 and Travis Head 59 shared in a fourth wickets stand of 89 to provide the only real Australian resistance as Seales ended with 5 for 60 and Joseph 4 for 46.

The West Indies reply started poorly with former captain Kraigge Brathwaite 3 and John Campbell on his test return 7, were back in the pavillion shortly after they went out to bat.

Inform Keacy Carthy 20 and vice captain Jomel Warrican nought followed within two balls of each other close to the end as Mitchell Starc took 2 for 35 and there was one each for captain Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.
